SYNOPSIS
The WAM Foundation seeks to reduce human suffering globally.
Our grants contribute to filling three gaps in global development:
The knowledge gap - figuring out what works to increase wellbeing
The implementation gap - funding high-quality operators to apply what we know to improve lives
The capital gap - working with other funding partners to increase total financing for high-impact global development
2 funding calls in the Fall 2024:
Priority Areas: Road Safety, Nutrition and Mental Health
In this round, WAM Foundation solicits proposals in the following priority areas which we believe to be underfunded: road safety, nutrition and mental health. \
General Call: Programs and Research to Reduce Suffering: WAM Foundation supports highly cost-effective research and programs which reduce suffering in developing countries.
Most awards will range from ~$50,000 to ~$1.5mm, but there is no lower bound and, in exceptional circumstances, grants may exceed $1.5mm. They seek to enable work which otherwise would not happen, so we also weigh the likelihood that other funders would support the proposal. Grants may last for up to 3 years. They favor projects that more risk-averse funders won’t support.
Applicants may be researchers, institutes, non-governmental organizations, or government entities. US and non-US entities are eligible to apply. Organizations must be secular in purpose and must not be political or lobbying entities. For-profit entities are not eligible.
Deadline: November 22
